A Woman's Choice in Lakeland, offers free confidential consultations about the abortion pill. If you’ve found yourself in a difficult position with a pregnancy and you’re considering a medical abortion, our staff can provide education and medical testing to guide you through the decision-making process.

Our Education

One of our client advocates will meet with you privately to discuss all your questions about the abortion pill, including:

  • Whether or not you may be eligible for the abortion pill and how much it costs
  • Your pregnancy options and what each one entails
  • How the abortion pill works and what to expect
  • The rights and protections you have
  • Risks or complications you may encounter

Our medical Testing services

One of our registered nurses will meet with you for a medical consultation and to provide you with the following testing services:

  • Lab quality pregnancy test to confirm that you are pregnant
  • A FREE limited obstetric ultrasound to tell you how far along you are and whether there is a living pregnancy in your uterus (required to determine eligibility for the abortion pill)
  • STI testing to protect you from complications that come from having an abortion procedure while you have an STI

Frequently Asked Questions

A Woman’s Choice does not prescribe the abortion pill or refer for abortions. We are a non-profit community organization that is here to offer education and free testing administered by a Registered Nurse to women facing unplanned pregnancies. 

All of our services are confidential and private. When you arrive you will be given a copy of our notice of privacy practices as outlined by federal law. We will hold in strict confidence all information provided, except as is required by law.

We do accept walk-ins for pregnancy tests, however, it is always best to have an appointment. As a walk-in, your wait time may be longer, or on particularly busy days, you may be asked to schedule an appointment to return on a different day. Appointments are required for ultrasound services or our educational programs.  Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

No. There is no age requirement to receive services at A Woman’s Choice.

We ask that you bring a photo ID with you to your appointment to help protect your confidentiality.

All of our services are completely FREE to our clients.

Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend, boyfriend, parent, or relative for support. There are services available for men at our center.

It is best if you are able to attend your appointment without any distractions. However, if you are unable to make arrangements for your children during your appointment, we don’t want you to miss the opportunity to serve you.

If circumstances come up that require you to reschedule your appointment, we ask that you please call in advance to let us know and to make a new appointment.

Yes, we are a faith-based organization. However, we serve all women coming from all different faith backgrounds. You will receive the same compassionate care regardless of your faith.
